Turki did not live half a life. He did not die half death.

Friday, 23 June 2017 Turki at Nainital

(Left All of Us - 31 January 2023).

My dear friend Turki ,

I could not know that You will leave the world without giving us a chance to say goodbye. Now I know that you are around and hearing us. So here is our final goodbye to you.

My first meeting with Turki was fairly recent. May be four five years back when he visited us in Nainital. It was a bright sunny day in Nainital and I can still remember the warmth and smile with which he met us. Friendship comes as a natural emotion in childhood while it is equally unusual to make friends as age advances. May be because with age world teaches us to be worldly wise! And we lose that childlike innocence and truth with time. Turki was different. He became my friend in our first meeting as I could feel the honesty and love in his person.  Turki was the man, we all know full of compassion. Honesty in words and wisdom was his character.

Turki was the rare man with rational thoughts. Whenever there was a new issue in the news he would instantly call me and discuss at length. Being a lawyer, at times I used to laugh at the honesty of his thoughts and jokingly tell him Turki Bhai you are very simple, but the world is complex, leave it, let’s discuss good food. Turki was a connoisseur for good food. We loved to discuss food and dine together. He was a caring man and as I remember when we last parted, we promised to meet for a good dinner. I intend to complete our dinner promise my friend, but you may have to wait a bit!

All flesh goes the same way. What matters is that Turki did not live half a life. He did not die half death. He remains alive in our heart and soul forever.
