Failure
of a democracy is nothing but the failure of its Judiciary.
Power and corruption are overlapping ideas. Power has tendency of overreach. It
is selfish and self-serving.
All legislatures and executives are so directly involved with the power that
the idea of its judicious use becomes alien to them. It is at best a utopian
idea to think that these two organs of a modern state can function without
power abuse.
The
Last Battalion on the frontline of saving the democracy is always of the
Judges.
So if you see any failing democracy, it means the last soldiers have fallen.
The Judiciary has lost the battle and the defeat is imminent.
