The Court of Absent Chief Justices.

A series of absent chief-justices, finally made it "The Court of Absent Chief Justices". One after another, disinterested chief-justices, being sent to this court have converted it a satellite court without any due course.

Who could think that the technology launched with much fanfare to bring efficiency in the system shall one day become the biggest cause of inefficiency. Video conferencing thought as the boon for justice delivery became a bane. Video Conferencing gave birth to the new kind of court proceedings in which often the chief justice remained physically absent.  The facility, originally designed for lawyers and litigants, was only used by all those disinterested chief justices, who although wanted to use the small high court as the spring board for the capital but could never stay physically in town to really look after the affairs of the court.

No chief justice, having any plan to grow this court, ever came here after pandemic. Either they remained completely absent for months and days or marked their attendance through video conference by just passing miscellaneous orders, without any judgment delivery. I hope they really did not think that the bar had no idea of this charade!

Let them be assured that we knew it well, but we were too young to fight against such concentrated might. After all which mice can bell the cat! 

Who can tell the chief of justices that he is wrong and for no work he should also not to be paid!

Chief of Justices is supposed to be the fountainhead of justice delivery in the state. We are an exception to that rule. The pandemic never ended for this court.

We have truly earned the title of “The court of absent chief justices.”  and taken out all justice from its veins.

Since this is no more a free country with free flow of ideas and expressions, I seek general pardon from the readers for the anonymity of the writer.
