Reforming Judiciary without money...!!!

All talk of judicial reforms sound naïve if we look at the continuously reducing budget allocation for the Law and Justice by the Union Government. In a stark reduction from Rs. 5100/- Crore in the year 2016-2017 it has come down to less than half to Rs. 2200/- Crore for the year 2020-2021.

Choking Indian Judiciary through budget.

To dislike the checks is the nature of every government as it is inherent urge of power to remain unchecked. But in a democracy like India, which is still not in a mature phase, institution like judiciary needs to be strengthened for its better functioning. Reducing budget allocation is indirect way of choking judicial functioning and also violates judicial independence.

Supreme Court of India, which is the last court for more than a billion population for justice delivery  has got total budget allocation of Rs. 308.61/- Crore In the present budget. I am not comparing chalk and cheese but still let me record the every year increasing budget allocation for Special Protection Guard (SPG). Present year special protection guard which has only one person to protect on its roll that is the prime minister of India has a budget allocation of Rs.592/- crore. One agency which has only one person to protect gets about double the money then the whole institution which is responsible for rendering justice to the whole of the country.
It is a clear sign that India is withering away from the welfare state and moving towards police state which is obsessed with security of political masters.
